The 1st XI collected their first league of the season with plenty of nerves along the way. Batting first Stanmore made 169 runs having been 51 for 4 at one stage. Gurjeet Sandhu picked up 2 early wickets in his opening spell. Stanmore staged a middle order recovery and were 160 for 7 with skipper Marc Reingold scoring freely, but a superb running catch by Ed Stolle accounted for their skipper and Gurjeet wrapped up the tail finishing up with 5 wickets. David Goodchild took 3 wickets and Alan Coleman 2.
Eastcote needed 170 to win and Tom Scollay immediately went on the attack scoring 61 off only 27 balls with 9 fours and 4 huge sixes in an opening partnership of 64. The introduction of left arm spinner Mukesh Bhatt immediatley paid dividends for Stanmore as he picked up 5 cheap wickets as we went from 64 for no loss to 143 for 7. Sachin Gulvady stood firm and ended up with 33 n.o. to see Eastcote home in partnership with Gurjeet who ended on 18 n.o., Adam Rossington scored 23 and David Goodchild 29.
