UPDATE TO 02/06/10
The U11 team remain unbeaten winning all eight matches so far, with strong performances in almost all the matches they have played and is leading the North Area Div 1 table and has reached the semi-final of the North Area Knock Out Cup competition. In more than half of the matches we have scored in excess of 180 runs which is very unusual, both at this level of cricket and for the fact that matches are limited to 20 overs per team.

The team is extremely fortunate this year in having 5 Middlesex County players in the squad with Omar (U11) and Ashane (U10) both retaining their places and Rahul (U11), JB (U10) and Araan (U10) all being successful in gaining selection to the respective County squads this year. Batting has clearly been the strength of the team with the top order being dominant throughout, however the bowling department has lacked consistency at times. Fielding is improving, so too has been team discipline both on and off the pitch which has been very encouraging to see.
Highlights of the season so far are:
Highest team score batting first 214 for no loss v OMT
Highest individual score Rahul 114 no v Ickenham
50+ Omar (59, 90no), Rahul (57, 91no, 73), Ashane (56)
Leading wicket takers Rishi (6), Jamie C (5), Juanid (6), Thomas (4)
The challenge for the second half of the season is to maintain the unbeaten run and improve in all aspects of the game.
INDOOR UPDATE
The North Area Indoor League ran from Nov to March and it was the first time we had entered a team made up of a mixture of U10 and U11's. The boys did really well to win the league with a 100% record, the matches against Harrow St Marys and Bessborough being very close affairs.
Having won the North Area U11 Indoor League we travelled to Hampton School for the county semi finals, unfortunately the volcanic activity in Iceland and the ash cloud meant a few of our boys were stuck overseas. Instead of having the luxury of taking 10 players to the semi finals as planned we had to scratch round to get 8 together (5 of whom were U10), in fact one our boys had not played any indoor matches to date.
We were up against Sheen Park in the semis and although we gave it a good shot, the opposition were too strong for us and it was no surprise that Sheen Park won the finals as well.
The boys will learn from the experience and it should not only help them for the outdoor season but also for next years indoor season.
