This weekend saw the senior XI's take on Teddington, with the firsts playing their first game of the year at Haydon Hall. Batting first Eastcote found going tough early on following some morning rain, and were eventually bowled out for 198. David Goodchild batted extremely well in his first knock of the year, top scoring with 82. In reply Teddington got off to a decent start, but wickets fell steadily throughout, and at 118-6 we were on top, but a 65-run partnership swayed the game in Teddington's favour, and they crossed the line 8 wickets down. Ravi Patel starred with the ball in his first league game for the club, taking 4-48 off 20 overs.
The seconds also had a dissappointing loss up in Bushy Park, after setting the home side 225 to win. Jawwad Rasheed continued his unbelievable early season form with 91, but Teddington took just 45.2 overs to seal the match with 4 wickets in hand, James Roan the pick of the Eastcote bowling with 3-69 off 12.2 overs.
The thirds were also playing up in Bushy Park, and came unstuck in an incredible game of cricket, eventually losing a match where 4 points seemed nailed on. The home side posted 234-8 in 54 overs, with Hemal Wijesuriya taking 3-36 off his 10 overs. In reply Eastcote were never really able to find a partnership, with Messam Chohan top scoring with 43, and Jean Saleem and Tony Norris contributing, but it came down to the final over, with Geoff Roan and Danny Skilton at the crease to secure the draw, with 1 run needed from the last three balls to secure 4 points. In the confusion, a run out left the threes all out to complete a dissappointing weekend for the senior sides.
